Many of those pre-1940 and mid-century homes still run original ceramic fuse switchboards needing upgrade, and older cottages near the railway often predate RCD requirements and lack safety switches. Ongoing renovation of this housing stock regularly exposes brittle aged wiring needing full rewires, while the unit infill and heavy appliance loads drive frequent switchboard upgrades.
